Jay-Z lost up to 55% of his income this year. Diddy as well. And of course 50Cent, he almost lost a big amount. This shows that the worldwide downturn don't stops in front of a superstar. For example: Jay-Z earned over $80 million last year, this year he "only" gets $35 million.

But: One of the winners is Akon. He said: "The timing of Jay's deal couldn't have been more perfect," fourth on this year's list Akon told. "Those numbers aren't going to be flying around anymore."

He's referring to the deals of 50Cent and Jay-Z. The last year 50Cent sold his stake in VitaminWater to Coca-Cola; Jay-Z made a deal with the concert promoter "Live Nation".

"Akon and Lil Wayne are among a select few who actually made more this year than last. The Senegalese crooner and dreadlocked rapper pulled in $20 million and $18 million, respectively, on the strength of frenetic touring schedules and lucrative collaborations." (Forbes)
